If you are 70 1⁄2 or older, one of the most tax-efficient ways to give is through an IRA charitable rollover. This opportunity can allow you to satisfy your annual required minimum distribution (RMD) and reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions. RCS and Lourdes Foundation, Inc. do not offer tax or legal advice. Please consult with your tax advisor regarding your specific situation and the proper steps to donate.

There is the option to give a gift of stocks, bonds, or other investment securities (including mutual funds). This option may also yield tremendous tax benefits for you and RCS. Contact the Advancement Office at 507.424.1817 for additional information.

Each year, several corporations match gifts to RCS through matching gift programs. Gifts can be matched by the employer of the donor or the donor’s spouse. You may wish to check with your employer for the possibility of matching funds or RCS is delighted to investigate this for you. This is an excellent way to exponentially increase gifts to Rochester Catholic Schools!

A pledge allows an individual to make a series of contributions over a selected period of time. RCS is delighted to set up a customized pledge program to fit the needs and desires of donors over a year or multi-year time period.

Estate
An individual may give a lifetime gift by transferring title to real estate owned. This option may allow for significant tax benefits for the donor. Contact the Advancement Office at 507.424.1817 for additional information.

Bequests
Individuals often make bequests to designate a certain dollar amount, percentage of an asset or estate or specific item(s) in their estate plan to RCS, whether by will, trust or beneficiary designation(s) of IRA’s, brokerage accounts or other financial assets in accordance with our gift acceptance policy.

Life Insurance
An individual may designate RCS as a beneficiary under any new or existing life insurance policy. Depending how the policy is structured, you may be eligible for tax savings.

Set up an EFT (electronic funds transfer) to make monthly/recurring payments as a sustainer. To set up your EFT, visit the Pace e Bene page and select the recurring gift option.

RCS employees have the opportunity to give a recurring monthly gift through payroll deductions, offering a gift to RCS while enjoying tax savings.
