History

1987- St. Francis of Assisi School opened its doors to welcome our very first class of preschoolers.

1991 - St. Francis of Assisi School united with Lourdes High School, St. John the Evangelist School, and St. Pius X School in the formation of Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS). Holy Spirit Catholic School completed the system of 5 campuses when it was established in 1993.

1993 - Growth in Catholic education has continued and RCS builds its fifth school in NW Rochester. Holy Spirit Catholic School opened and united RCS as a five-school system. 

2002 - St. Pius X Catholic School opened its doors and RCS grew to add a second preschool classroom.

2008 - Holy Spirit Catholic School opened its doors and RCS grew to add a third preschool classroom.

2013 - Our tradition of excellence continues with the opening of Lourdes High School at its new location. 

2017 - With space available to expand, and families asking for extended day options, our traditional school day preschool expanded to include extended care at St. Pius X School and Holy Spirit Catholic School.

2021 - We are growing again! The Rochester community continues to seek learning opportunities with The Nest at RCS. Guided by the needs of our families, plans are underway to expand The Nest to all five locations! 

2022 - The Nest at RCS expands its programming. A nature-based environmental kinship program opened at Lourdes High School, an all-day pre-kindergarten program opened at St. Francis of Assisi School, and Holy Spirit School will welcome our first class of early preschoolers, age 2.
