Worship

Worship, in its most simplistic definition means to love God and be loved by Him. Since our relationship with God is most powerfully expressed in our worship, St. Pius X School students, staff, and guests celebrate Mass together on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. Click here to view the 2019-20 Mass Schedule.

Rochester Catholic Schools believes active participation in leading worship is essential to honoring, pleasing, and understanding God. At St. Pius X School, our classrooms rotate participation for our weekly Masses so that all students will have the opportunity to play a significant role in the greatest purpose of the Church: worship. Within every classroom, individual students have the opportunity to serve as lectors, greeters, choir members, and altar servers. Not only does this promote student involvement in liturgical planning, but it also provides opportunities for formative experiences in fine arts, leadership, and public speaking.

As part of our school tradition, we enter and exit the church in silence so as to respect those who are engaged in prayer. At the end of every school Mass, the congregation kneels and prays in silence for the next person who will pray in the same space. This beautiful tradition reminds us of the greater Church of which we are a part.
