About
The Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Middle School serves students in grades 6-8. Located in downtown Rochester, Minnesota, the middle school is part of Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS), a unified Catholic school system that has been serving our community since 1877.

Our school is accredited by the Minnesota Nonpublic Schools Accrediting Association (MNSAA) and provides a superior educational experience for students while serving an integral role in the teaching mission of the Catholic Church.
Academics
At RCS the bar is set high. Inspiring our students with challenging expectations and providing the tools necessary to achieve them we foster a culture of academic excellence and personal success.
Activities
Rochester Catholic Schools believes in a “whole child” educational philosophy, providing students with extracurricular activities to explore and expand their God-given spiritual gifts and talents.

At the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Middle School, passing on the Catholic faith to our students and their families is the most vital work we do. Rochester Catholic Schools is currently applying in-person, hybrid, and distance learning models as appropriate, with the commitment to providing the safest and best learning experience at each of the five schools within our system. We are available to connect with you in several ways to share more about our schools serving preschool-grade 12. Extended Day Programs

2025-26 Extended Care

Extended Care is available for students in kindergarten through eighth grade at Holy Spirit, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Pius X schools.

For the 2025-26 school year, care hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Questions? Please email extendedcare@rcsmn.org.

2025-2026 Extended Care Rates for Kindergarten - Grade 8

The rates for extended care are noted below. Families will set up their payment through the Procare and your monthly fee will be automatically deducted from our payment gateway "Tuition Express" at the end of the month. For questions, please email extendedcare@rcsmn.org.

3 Days/Week:

Before School Care: $168

After School Care: $168

Both Before & After School Care: $336

5 Days/Week:

Before School Care: $242

After School Care: $242

Both Before & After School Care: $484

Payment options include:

By credit card, with a 3% transaction fee

By ACH, with no fee

By yearly or semesterly check, payable at the RCS Central Office

Medication Policy
If your child is taking medication, you are asked to administer the medication prior to their arrival.

If your family needs a receipt for this time period, please print off directly from your Procare app or Procare online platform
