About
St. Francis of Assisi School is part of Rochester Catholic Schools, a unified Catholic school system that has been serving the Rochester, Minnesota community since 1877.

Location
Located in the southeast quadrant of the city, St. Francis of Assisi School provides a superior educational experience for students in preschool through grade 8 while also serving an integral role in the teaching mission of the Catholic Church.

Preschool
The Nest is the preschool and early childhood program for the RCS System. A collaborative approach, located within the three elementary schools, the Nest is designed to inspire creative play and develop age-appropriate learning opportunities.

Student Support
As part of the Rochester Catholic Schools family, you are part of a learning community that is passionate about supporting the whole child of God in all aspects of life - mind, body, and spirit. Through RCS Student Support Services, professional and compassionate care is offered to counsel, guide, direct, and protect.
Admissions
Rochester Catholic Schools is currently applying in-person, hybrid, and distance learning models as appropriate, with the commitment to providing the safest and best learning experience at each of the five schools within our system. We are available to connect with you in several ways to share more about our schools serving preschool-grade 12. God designed us to make a difference with our lives and expects us to give something back. We were created to add to life on earth and not just take from it. Service to others is a gift we continually call upon to help those in need.

Our school community serves our local community by:

participating in numerous service projects throughout the school year including: picking up litter during the city-wide “Litter Bit Better” campaign
volunteering as bell ringers for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign
providing entertainment to the Sisters of St. Francis at Christmas to show our appreciation to those who have committed their lives to us and to God
visiting residents in the nursing home twice a month offering the greatest gifts of all, our time and our love
collecting for Catholic Charities baby bottle campaign (Matthew 25:40)
making placemats and fleece blankets for Crisis Nursery to provide essential care products of comfort to the "littlest among us."

World

Our school community serves our world by:

our Student Council coordinating an Advent collection for Missionary Childhood Association to care for God's children throughout the world
collecting monetary funds for Catholic Relief Services Operation Rice Bowl to offer the hungry not only a healthy meal, but also hope
System-wide food and dry goods collection campaign in support of the students and families of the Catholic St. Mary’s Mission School on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota
