Summer Academy

At Rochester Catholic Schools, we strive to enrich the minds, hearts, and spirits of our students throughout the summer as well as throughout the school year.

We offer kindergarten through grade 12 enrichment as part of our Summer Academy. Our high school students have the choice to participate in J-Term, and our K-8 students have several clubs and camps to attend. Explore the options for summer enrichment below!

All K-8 Summer Academy camps and clubs are open to non-RCS students. All courses are listed as "rising grade." Therefore, if it says first grade, that means for students entering first grade in the fall of 2019.

Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis. In the event a class is filled, a waiting list will be created.

Language & Literacy

Lit Camp! (Grades 1-2)

Don’t miss out! It is time to register for Lit Camp! Prevent summer slide by enrolling your child in Lit Camp! Lit Camp is a three week, half day experience for students entering grades 1-2.

Campers will be immersed in reading and writing in a fun camp-like setting! The Lit Camp model is based on literacy skills, social-emotional development, and engagement. The curriculum is based around the seven strengths of belonging, friendship, kindness, curiosity, courage, and hope. Great stories will be shared, comprehension skills practiced, independent reading time given, and time for writing and reflection. Of course, no camping experience would be complete without games, songs, and snacks!

This fun summer experience is limited to 15 “campers” in each bunk group. Bunk groups will be divided by age and will be determined following registration. Campers may miss days if they are involved in other summer activities or on vacation. They will still gain much from this experience. Campers returning for a second year of Lit Camp can be assured of a brand new experience this summer.
