Congratulations to LHS student Ryan Schaefer who has been chosen by the Downtown Kiwanis as Student of the Month for September 2017! Son of Jeffrey and Michon Schaefer, Ryan was nominated by the Science Department for several reasons. “He has continually challenged himself academically, as he has taken Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, and is currently taking Physics and Anatomy & Physiology. Ryan is genuinely concerned with learning about science and has shown a high aptitude in several scientific disciplines.”

Ryan has notably been involved in several extracurricular activities including: Track & Field, Nordic Ski, Cross Country, S.A.D.D., Science Club, Lourdes Library Aide, Habitat for Humanity, Hospitality Minister, National Honor Society and the Eagle Online.

Among the many awards Ryan has received are:  Track and Field, Nordic Ski and Cross Country Letters, Cross Country Captain and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

Ryan is considering several Universities in the Midwest and East Coast area. He is planning on majoring in computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence and software Development.
