Boys Soccer

The boys soccer program is looking forward to 2021 with the addition of a junior high program due to high numbers. We are very excited to add this opportunity for our junior high players and look forward to a successful season for them.

Our varsity will look to also have a great season with the addition of a third class in boys soccer in 2021. We will have some new rivals in 1A, but we think we have a strong chance to head to state and compete for a state title.

We return Trent Neff, Conor Kane, and Jonah Morris as senior captains and will add seniors Freddie Suhler, Dalton Sobolik, Jack Black, and Evan Lesser. We also have a strong class of juniors, sophomores, and freshmen that will help the varsity over the 2021 season. We hope to see everyone out to a home game at RRSS to help cheer on these Eagles to a hopeful state trip!

Boys Soccer is coached by head coach Sean Kane, JV coach Chris McGuire, Jr. High coach Zachary Boyer.

Cheer

This year’s Cheer team is the largest in Lourdes High School history. Led by Captains Molly Kesler and Lizzie Pike, the team is ready to spread school spirit and cheer the football team onto victory! This season will be spent learning and performing 35 different cheers, five band dances and three unique routines. The team is thrilled to be sporting new uniforms this year and can’t wait for the crowd to join them under the Friday night light. Go Eagles!

Cheer is coached by Elizabeth Harris.

Volleyball

The Lourdes Eagles volleyball program returned to the court last week to begin preparing for the 2021 Season. After a season cut short in 2020, the Eagles are looking forward to another chance to play and improve from last year. The Eagles return five players from last season and add five new ones who are ready to contribute!

Volleyball is coached by first year head coach Lauren Larson, JV coach Mikayla Becker, Jr. High coaches Gabrielle Bowlin and Sarah Walker.

Girls Soccer

We start off quickly this year with four games during our first week of play. Seniors Captains, Lindsey Birch, Kiara Haugen and CJ Adamson have been exceptional leaders this pre-season as they work to create an incredible team atmosphere with hard work and fun. This will be a challenging year again as we move into Section 2A and take on new opponents, yet keep our familiar rivalries. Our returning offense will make a big impact for us again this year. Leading the way are Juniors, Amelia Gossman and Nikki Lindeen, and Sophomores, Bryn Billmeier, Rose Otto, Anna Baudhuin and Becca Cook. I am looking forward to seeing what this group can do after a solid year in 2020. Now that we've polished our attack with CJ Adamson and Kiara Haugen at midfield, we welcome some new faces, Freshmen Ella Shedivy and Allie Restovich. With a brand new line up and a bucket load of confidence, there is no telling what this young group will accomplish this season!  Our core strength has been at our defense for a number of years. We've been blessed with the great talents of Lindsey Birch, Grace Buntrock, Maya Nickels, Michaela Schommer and Ellie Baudhuin.  All of these upperclassmen have been an integral part of our success over the years and with new additions, Anna Shedivy and goalkeeper, Addison Lange, we'll build on this awesome foundation throughout the year. We are housed in a tough HVL conference but our goal is to be at the top again this year. If you're looking to head to a few games this season, we would love to have you!  Make special note of Monday, September 13, when we host Section 1A rival, Winona-Cotter, and don't miss Senior night as we celebrate the incredible careers of Lindsey, Kiara and CJ with a big time match up against the Byron Bears. The fourth annual "Beagle Cup" game will be a "Friday Night Lights" contest on October 1 at 7:30 p.m.!  Special thanks to all of the LHS girls soccer fans, friends and parents.  We appreciate your support!  We're looking forward to a great year!  Best of Luck to all of our teams!

Girls Soccer is coached by head coach Sarah Groven, JV coach Mike Lacine and Jr. High coach Kelly Melhorn.

Cross Country

The boys team has some lofty goals that have not been achieved by Lourdes boys team in roughly 15 years. The varsity returns seniors Kevin Turlington, Jack Archbold, and Nathan Renier. We also have solid junior high returners in Stefan Jones and Nicholas Onigkeit. Max Nelson, Nicholas Timmerman, and Dylan Rossow will be contributing as well. Rossow is a retuning All-Conference performer. This team has the potential to do great things.

The girls team looks to improve on a third place HVL finish as well as a seventh place finish at sections. Freshman Anna Peikert, senior Emily Miller, and newcomer Abby Oxentenko logged solid summer miles. Great Deick and Mariah Brooks will need to produce as leaders and on the course in order for this team to succeed. Freshman Abby Lindeen rounds out the top five.

Cross Country is coached by head coach Pete Gilman, and assistant coaches Josiah Swanson and Brian Rossow.

Football

The 2021 Lourdes Football Season is in full swing. Practice started last week and we had outstanding effort led by our seniors. We look forward to competing at a high level this season. Everyone is excited to get back to a normal schedule and getting back to Friday night lights at RCTC. "I can't thank our seniors enough for all their leadership. It has been a very unique off season, and they have directed the ship to get us ready for a special season." Coach Kesler

Football is coached by head coach Mike Kesler, assistant coaches John-Howard Carroll, Nic Jensen, Matt Bjergum, Ben Witter, Brent Lichty, Luke Teague, Jimmy Johnson and Jr. High coaches David Hillman, Dan Bochmann and Jonathan Bergmann.

Girls Tennis

The Girls Tennis team will be trying to win the section for the 26th straight year. There are six returning varsity players and six returning JV players. Four new players will be joining the team this year.

Success at the state tournament as a team and individuals will be the teams major goals this season.
