St. Francis of Assisi School is part of Rochester Catholic Schools, a unified Catholic school system that has been serving the Rochester, Minnesota community since 1877.

Location
Located in the southeast quadrant of the city, St. Francis of Assisi School provides a superior educational experience for students in preschool through grade 8 while also serving an integral role in the teaching mission of the Catholic Church.

Preschool
The Nest is the preschool and early childhood program for the RCS System. A collaborative approach, located within the three elementary schools, the Nest is designed to inspire creative play and develop age-appropriate learning opportunities.

Through RCS Student Support Services, professional and compassionate care is offered to counsel, guide, direct, and protect.
Admissions
Rochester Catholic Schools is currently applying in-person, hybrid, and distance learning models as appropriate, with the commitment to providing the safest and best learning experience at each of the five schools within our system. We are available to connect with you in several ways to share more about our schools serving preschool-grade 12. At St. Francis of Assisi School, we strive to engage our students in the activities of worship, service, and prayer.

We pray as our students begin this journey, it will lead them to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and help to establish a foundation of service as faithful Christians.

St. Francis of Assisi School is part of the educational mission of the Catholic church. Passing on the Catholic faith to our students and their families serves as the most important work we do. We pray that all students who walk through our doors will experience the calming peace of our patron, Francis of Assisi. We are fully attentive to the way Francis of Assisi grew in his relationship with God – through simplicity, prayer, stewardship, and awareness of the Divine in all living things. We strive to weave this charism throughout the fabric of school life.

The Franciscan spirituality, passed down through the Sisters of St. Francis, inspires the teaching and learning experienced in our classrooms. Our strong Catholic identity is evidenced by a school environment forged by relationships – with God, family, students, and community – that allows children to learn and grow to their maximum potential. We understand and celebrate the significant roles that our priests, administrators, teachers, and staff play in the lives of our students, believing that these special relationships can be paramount to a child’s initial growth and understanding of God's infinite love.
