SCHOOL NEWS The 2019-2020 Family Handbook is now available online. Click here. If you have not yet paid your activity fee for the year or turned in all of your forms that were due at Celebrate the Spirit, please stop in the office! We can help with the forms and also accept your money!!! Thanks! Please remember to submit all t-shirt orders by Monday, September 16th. If you would like to order a HERO (Helping Everyone Respect Others) t-shirt (new or returning students) please call or email the Holy Spirit office with your student's name, teacher, and shirt size. HERO shirts are $10. If you have a kindergarten student or a new 1-5th grade student, you will get a free House t-shirt compliments of the Home and School Association. (We just need your student's shirt size.) If you have a returning 1st through 5th grader who needs a new House shirt, please contact the office with the correct size along with $10 to cover the cost of the t-shirt. Thank you for promoting school spirit! Just a reminder that next Friday, September 13th is our House t-shirt uniform wear! Please wear your House t-shirt with uniform pants. For our new students, please know that House t-shirts will be ordered for you in the next month or so. If you want to know more about our House system, please click here! We have a few attendance reminders to pass along to all of our families. If your child is ill, leaving early, or coming in late..please use the attendance email which is hsattendance@rcsmn.org Our tardy bell rings at 8:50a.m. if your student arrives after 8:50a.m., please have them stop in the office for a tardy pass. We have no morning supervision until 8:30a.m. Please do not drop off your child/children until AFTER 8:30a.m. Thank you for paying particular attention to these important reminders.
SYSTEM NEWS RCS has partnered with Mayo Clinic and Olmsted Medical Center to provide the flu vaccine at school locations this fall. This is a fast, easy, and convenient way to keep your children, your school, and your community healthy throughout the year. We will again have a FIXED registration period this year. Registration is now open through September 11 at 11:00 p.m. No registration forms will be accepted after September 11. The flu shot will be available, as well as a limited supply of the nasal spray (FluMist). To register your child or for more information, please visit www.semnic.org. SYSTEM ACTIVITIES Just a reminder that RCS students and staff(spouse) can attend Lourdes Athletic events free of charge. We hope to see everyone at as many games as possible. For non high school students, we encourage students to attend games with their parents or an adult supervisor. If a student is asked to leave a game because of behavior and their parent is not at the game, they will not be able to attend future games without a parent in attendance. We ask that they watch the game or sit in the bleachers. Running will not be tolerated. Thank you and Go EAGLES! The LHS Weight Room is open to students in grades 7-12. Karl Erickson, Strength & Conditioning Specialist, will be staffing the Weight Room as follows: Grades 7-8 Grades 9-12 - Open Weight Room Any questions please contact Karl Erickson at erickson.karl@mayo.edu. All RCS students in grades K-6 are invited to play Two-Hand Touch Football during halftime of the Eagle football game on Friday, September 13. All Little Eagle participants are asked to come to the field at halftime. The Eagles take on Lake City at 7:00 pm at Rochester Regional Sports Stadium September 13. Come out and watch the Eagles on Senior Night. With the increased traffic and construction downtown, we are increasing the sports' team dismissal time to 25 minutes prior to when the bus is scheduled to leave from Lourdes High School. The schools do allow the students to leave 5 minutes prior to dismissal so they can go to their locker and get ready to leave by the 25 allowed minutes. Rochester Catholic Schools students have the opportunity to begin learning a band instrument in 5th grade. The newly launched Eagle Booster Club was established to support the general growth and development of athletics for students (grades 7-12) within Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS). Membership is comprised of RCS parents, alumni, community members, and businesses working together with goals to heighten, enhance, and enrich the athletics programs. Members promote and provide a high quality experience for students, coaches, directors, and fans through sponsorship opportunities, fundraising, and volunteer efforts. Adamson Motors is hosting the Chrysler Cars 4 Classrooms Program on Friday, September 13 vs. Lake City from 5-7pm at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium. Lourdes Clay Target Team announces the 2019 Fall Clay Target League. This Fall League is considered a Club Sport. Sign up is open through September 10. League Season runs from September 15-October 20. The League is open to all RCS students in grades 7-12. Firearm Safety (USA Clay Target) is available.
