FEATURED NEWS

At the Youth Frontiers Kindness retreat at Pax Christi Church, the 5th grade classes spend part of the day discussing kindness with students from Lourdes High School.

Hello,

As you may remember, one of our root beliefs at Holy Spirit Catholic School is that we believe that we reach our full potential as members of a welcoming, supportive, and joyful community.

We have an opportunity to strengthen these bonds of community on Monday and Tuesday evenings at parent-teacher conferences.  The dialogue fostered at these conferences is an opportunity for us to listen to each other and develop a working relationship where we clarify our roles in helping your students reach their full potential.

I will also be available during this time (4:30-7:30 PM) each evening to listen to your concerns and collaborate with you to help Holy Spirit Catholic School be a place where the Kingdom of God can be lovingly constructed each day.

I look forward to seeing you at conferences and visiting with you about how we can better inspire a Christ-centered culture of excellence where students grow in wisdom, courage, and character.

In peace-

Chris Smith

*Mrs. Laura Nunez, our Spanish teacher, will be available for conferences on Monday, October 16th only.

The Green Team is asking for your help.  The grounds of Holy Spirit require a lot of manual labor to keep them up.  The Green Team is hoping for 30 volunteers to help on Saturday, October 21st from 9:00am-12:00 noon.  Mulch and pea rock need to be spread on beds at 5 different locations on the campus. All the shrubs in the courtyard and along the perimeter of the church need to be trimmed. Please bring rakes, shovels, trimmers, wheelbarrows.  A small tractor with a loader or a back hoe would be very helpful!  Even one-two hours would be helpful, if you aren’t able to stay the entire time.  If you have questions, please contact Pat Riester at 507-398-5640.

Please open the attachment and read about our staff honored for her "Spotlight on the Spirit."

A reminder that there is no school or extended care on October 19th and 20th.

The Knight's of Columbus' Spirit Run is quickly approaching.  The date is set for Saturday, Oct. 28.  The school helps the KC's by providing the runners an assortment of goodies for after the race.  Many runners have stated that the Spirit Run has the best post-race treats ever! We are in need of your help.  Could you bake something for the Spirit Run?  A dozen cookies or bars is all we would need.  You can bring more, but you don't have to.  If you don't bake, could you send in a bag of Halloween candy to put out on the table.  You don't have to bring a huge bag, but just one bag would be great!  The KC's help the school out financially  and support us by doing a big pancake breakfast in January.  Please let us know how you can help out!  Contact Cheri Block with questions or donations at cblock@rcsmn.org

Holy Spirit Church and Pax Christi have both graciously allowed us to sell tickets to our Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction after masses for a few weeks before our event. Please consider signing up for a mass to help sell tickets with either your family or a friend. Click on the link below to sign up.

Pamela has enjoyed volunteering in her children's classrooms at Byron Primary School, assisting with children's ministry at Autumn Ridge Church, and participating in the Rochester Mothers of Preschoolers Program.  She lives in Rochester with her husband and two children.

Please give Mrs. Motte a warm, Holy Spirit welcome as she joins our community!
