RCS LAUNCHES NEW EAGLE!
Rochester Catholic Schools announced in May the launch of its new brand identity in an effort to better reflect our school system's unique identity as a singular institution, comprised of several individual parts, in a more cohesive, unified, and inclusive way. With this change, RCS entered a new chapter in its history whereby all entities (departments and schools) live as one with shared colors of purple and gold and all are Eagles! As a continuation of this branding effort, Rochester Catholic Schools revealed its new Eagle logo to the community at the Homecoming Football game on October 22.

Rochester Catholic Schools is excited to announce Holy Spirit Catholic School Preschool, part of The Nest: Early Learning Academy, has been chosen as a finalist in the Post Bulletin's 2017 Reader's Choice Awards for best preschool in Rochester!

NATIONAL MERIT
SEMIFINALISTS
Officials from the National Merit Scholarship Program announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

HURRICANE RELIEF
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with all the communities that have been affected by the storms over the past month, including most recently those in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Rochester Catholic Schools, in conjunction with the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA), participated in a campaign asking every Catholic school family around the country to contribute at least $1 per student to help Catholic schools impacted by the storm to rebuild, reopen and re-enroll students. We are proud to communicate that the RCS community has raised $2,788.59! The NCEA will distribute 100% of the funds collected to dioceses in the affected areas.
We thank those individuals who have so generously contributed. Please continue to pray for those affected by this recent disaster.
NEW WALL
2017 INDUCTEES
Lourdes High School now features a new Sports Hall of Fame Wall to recognize individuals, teams, coaches, and volunteers who have made exceptional contributions to the school's various athletic programs.
The wall celebrates more than 45 athletes and coaches who have been inducted into the Lourdes High School Sports Hall of Fame since it was started in 2007. Also included are more than 20 teams and volunteers who have been honored.

A new "flock" of apparel has landed -- stop by the Spirit Shop at Lourdes High School to choose your new t-shirt, hooded sweatshirt, 1/4 zip and full zip apparel purchased.
In addition, we have partnered with Big Impact Group to offer additional apparel items via an online ordering process with delivery to your home. Special online ordering ends October 5.

WELCOME NEW RCS STAFF
Rochester Catholic Schools welcomed new faculty and staff to the RCS community. Newly hired teachers, staff, and paraprofessionals spent their orientation day "trolley touring" through Rochester, making stops at the five RCS school sites, Assisi Heights, and St. James Coffee for some java and pastries. It was a fun and exciting day - one that we hope leaves a mark on these educators and support staff who have said "yes" to Catholic education. May their work be blessed by God and may they feel welcomed and part of the RCS family.
