Wizard of Oz a Hit!
Today the staff and students of St. Francis of Assisi School traveled to LHS to see the "Wizard of Oz". Congratulations to the cast and crew of the Wizard of Oz. Under the direction of Mrs. Amelia Smith, the spring musical was wonderful entertainment. There is always a team effort to produce these kinds of events. Special thanks to all the parent volunteers who assisted in any way. The play will be performed at LHS tonight at tomorrow night at 7:00 pm. Enjoy the show!

Thank you for your patience this week as we relocated dismissal and Junior High classrooms. Snow will be off-loaded from the roofs on Monday, which will allow us back in our normal routine - hopefully by lunchtime. The gym will be available for Extended Care on Monday morning and we will be back to using the main entrance. While a bit inconvenient - we felt it prudent to take these precautionary measures given the size of the drifts on the roof.

We are looking for an individual to serve as the HSA Secretary for the upcoming school year. If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact one of the HSA Officers, or the school office.

The success of the raffle is due to your generosity! If you can donate a (tax-deductible) prize, complete the form attached by clicking here to the school office. Suggested donations include gift baskets, $CRIP, gift certificates, as well as any service you may wish to donate, or talent you would like to share. Prizes for all ages are welcome. Each and every donation that is made is appreciated and accepted with gratitude. Please feel free to contact me, Micki Spors, Commitee Chair, with any questions, (507) 273-0929, mspors@gmail.com.

Coming home this week is a free resource for you from Loyola Press. The Family Faith Pledge card provides some suggestions for you and your family to welcome God into your daily family life. There are suggestions for mealtime, Prayer and Worship and Moral Development. We hope you find it useful as we enter Lent. Special thanks to Loyola Press for this free resource.

The Notre Dame Handbell Ensemble will be celebrating Mass with us on Tuesday, March 12th. They are traveling through Rochester and offered to play at Mass that morning. We will begin with prelude music at 9:05 am as it is our Adoration Day, and we exit church in silence.

SYSTEM NEWS

Hearts of Gold will take place on Friday, April 26, 2019!

Hearts of Gold, the premier fundraiser for Lourdes High School, is a night of fun and fellowship that brings together current Rochester Catholic Schools parents, parents of graduates, staff, alumni, and community friends in celebration of Lourdes High School while raising funds to continue and expand the Lourdes mission! This enjoyable event is not just for parents of Lourdes students… it is for everyone who may have an interest or passion to contribute toward faith based education excellence. All are welcome!

NEW THIS YEAR
This year’s event has a brand new theme, Cirque in the City. Enjoy the vintage circus feel while sampling cuisine from several unique food stations. You will also be one of the first to celebrate in the new Hilton!

The evening begins with a fun Silent Auction that includes a wide array of desirable items donated from Lourdes benefactors and business supporters. There will be plenty of time to visit with family and friends while bidding on favorite Silent Auction items from personal Smartphones. Whether or not guests choose to bid, all will be entertained with an energetic Live Auction while being inspired by the RCS spirit throughout the evening.

Please plan to join us at Hearts of Gold, Cirque in the City to experience our RCS family in action … showing the love of our community for one another and our school as we celebrate and financially support our educational mission together!

Living the mission and leading by example, our RCS employees volunteered their time to over 15 local non-profit organizations on our 3rd annual RCS Employee Day of Service. That afternoon, everyone gathered together for an afternoon retreat filled with prayer and reflection.

The Board of Trustees invite all parents to  participate in the 2018-2019 Parent Survey. The intent of the annual survey is to provide a convenient forum to listen to our parent community. Your thoughts have been instrumental in guiding important decisions in strategic planning, maintaining our strong Catholic identity, academic excellence, and operational vitality. We hope you will take the time to share your thoughts and experiences with us.  Hard copy surveys are available at all school offices.  All responses are confidential and will be compiled for analytical purposes.     Thank you!
