CAMPUS MINISTRY NEWS

The next Pathways Together Encounter Christ (TEC) retreat is scheduled for February 16-18 at St. Theodore’s Church in Albert Lea.  Retreat attendees must be 16 years of age or older and registration is $50.  (Registration & Information is attached)   Adults are welcome on the retreat as well.

What is TEC you wonder??

Pathways TEC is a three-day retreat weekend based on the Paschal Mystery: the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Pathways TEC brings teens and adults together during the weekend to be participants in encountering Christ as the family of God.

What Happens On the Weekend??
A TEC weekend works to build spiritual growth through participation in group activities. Although some time is given for individual prayer and reflection, the emphasis throughout the weekend is on group participation through music, discussions, talks, prayer, Scripture, Mass and celebration.  Each day of the retreat has a central theme:

V “Die Day” is the first day – a day centered on the death of Jesus Christ.  On “Die Day” participants reflect on many different aspects of their lives, focusing on better relationships with God, self and others.

V “Rise Day” is the second day, a joyous celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. On “Rise Day” participants celebrate the presence of God’s love in their lives.

V “Go Day” is the third day – a day which explores the continuous call to spread the Good News.  On “Go Day” participants recognize and prepare to carry forth the message of Jesus Christ.

Again, if you would like to register simply return the application to Monica or if you have any questions contact her at monij_13@hotmail.com or 507-363-1809.

Chapel Masses will be every Tuesday morning at 7:15 am in the Lourdes Chapel with Father Hoang as our presider.   All are welcome.

Men of Pax is looking for volunteers to help with Pancake Sundays, held on the 3rd Sunday of each month at Pax Christi.  Breakfast is served from 8:00-12:30 and volunteers can help for all or part of that time.  It is a great opportunity for students to earn service hours with a friend or family. Volunteers can help pour water and coffee or help pass out plates of warm food.  Busiest times are right after Mass. They have lots of openings for the December 16th and each month until May.  If you are interested in volunteering, please call Mark at 279-3214 to sign up. Thank you.

The fundraiser for the Lourdes graduation party is Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 5-730 at Pax Christi. Please click here for a ticket order form.

Congratulations to the 2019 pilgrims who will be traveling to Assisi, Italy, in October to walk in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare: Amelia Smith, Jr. High Religion and Language Arts Teacher at St. John the Evangelist and Rachel Strauss, 4th Grade Teacher at St. Francis of Assisi will be sponsored to attend the Franciscan Leadership Pilgrimage - a journey that will last a lifetime as they travel in the footsteps of two remarkable saints who continue to shape and embolden who we are today at Rochester Catholic Schools. Since 2006, RCS and LFI have partnered to sponsor RCS faculty and staff members to partake in the Pilgrimage. Pilgrims experience the legacy of St. Francis and St. Clare that is instrumental and integral in shaping the values and philosophies of so many Franciscan institutions. RCS and LFI pray that our pilgrims return to their positions within our school system with an esteemed desire to impact others with a renewed spirit and deeper understanding of the Franciscan charism. Please keep our two pilgrims in your prayers as they prepare for this life-changing experience. Again, congratulations to Amelia and Rachel! Our prayers are with you every step of the way.
