Students were thrilled to work on some Buddy Work this morning! They counted Ten Frames and made a Winter Booklet filled with sight words together. Mrs. Apel was impressed with the good partner skills. Way to start the new year off right, boys and girls!

Characteristics of a STREAM School

Starting next year, Holy Spirit will begin the transformation to become a STREAM (Science Technology Religion Engineering Arts Mathematics) school. Over the next several weeks, I will share the 10 characteristics of STREAM schools.

#1. STREAM schools seek to integrate Catholic identity into every aspect of the curriculum.  They manifest this intent through projects based in social justice as well as in-depth experiential instruction in the teachings of the Church.

Holy Spirit will seek to intentionally integrate faith into all subjects.  Faith formation will be at the very heart of what we do and an emphasis on Catholic Social Teaching will inform our interdisciplinary projects. Our study of our faith will involve active learning experiences rooted in the teachings of Jesus contained in the Gospels.
