FEATURED NEWS

Mass at Lourdes is a time of community, prayer and reflection. At the beginning of our all-school Mass for All Saints Day, we took a moment to read a traditional Jewish Prayer for Mercy in both its original and English translation. This was a moment of attention to the grieving of the Jewish Community following that previous weekend's tragedy at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Our recognition: that gathering for worship is never only about ourselves.

"God, full of mercy, who dwells in the heights, provide a sure rest to the souls of the deceased, upon the wings of the Divine Presence, within the range of the holy, pure and glorious, whose shining resemble the sky's, therefore, the Master of Mercy will protect him forever, from behind the hiding of his wings, and will tie his soul with the rope of life.  The Everlasting is his heritage, and he shall rest peacefully upon his lying place, and let us say: Amen."

Peace,

Dr. Karen Juliano

Lourdes High School Principal
