The Food for Kidz food packing event is Saturday, November 3 at Bethel Lutheran Church. Holy Spirit is one of several church who helps plan and lead this event during which hundreds of volunteers pack food in an assembly line fashion- similar to what is done at Feed My Starving Children.

Our goal is to pack over 100,000+ meals in 6 hours. We pack oatmeal based breakfast meals and rice based evening meals. 10 % of the meals stay in Rochester to be distributed through Channel One. Many volunteers are needed to work 2 hour shifts: 9-11 AM, 11 AM-1 PM or 1 -3 PM. Volunteers ages 5-105 years are welcome!

It costs about $15000 to pay for the materials for the meals. If volunteers would like to make a donation when they come to pack, it would be appreciated!

The event is at Bethel Lutheran Church 810 3rd Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904.

Sign up by clicking on the following link  Food for Kidz Nov 3 Registration

The Church has a contractor doing the majority of parking lot and sidewalk snow and ice clearing.  In addition, we are seeking volunteers to assist in making sure sidewalks are in safe condition before weekend masses.  A volunteer would clear sidewalks of light amount of snow and spread salt as needed.
If interested in helping keep Church sidewalks safe, please contact Mark Schluttner at the Church office or by email, mschluttner@holyspiritrochester.org

Please click here for the ticket order form for the annual Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction.  Make plans to attend this fabulous evening of food, fellowship and wonderful silent auction baskets!

Every day young people continue to engage more and more with technology, RCS in collaboration with the Diocese of Winona-Rochester Safe Environment Program, is taking a proactive step to empower our students to become Upstanders in our community by offering a new app program called STOP!T.  Doing the right thing is only a click away.

STOP!T is an anonymous and reporting incident management program that features a simple and fast mobile app for students, allowing them to anonymously share messages, photos, videos or anything of concern with school officials – from cyberbullying to threats or self-harm. The STOP!T program ensures that all students who study, worship, and participate in our schools are doing so in a safe and secure environment. We believe our adoption of STOP!T is one of many important steps in our continued effort to provide a positive school climate and a safe learning environment.

STOP!T will also help us go beyond reacting to bullying and inappropriate behavior, and instead start deterring bullying, harassment and other harmful or inappropriate conduct.  STOP!T will be launching soon in your school making it a safer, stronger and more supportive and caring community!  Parent information will be shared by grade level prior to the launch. Click here to learn more about the STOP!T program.
