WEEKLY BROADCAST FEATURED NEWS This morning we recognized our Lourdes High School National Merit Semifinalists: Samuel Boes, Andrew Deick, and Teresa Nowakowski. These talented students are among approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 64th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. They now have the opportunity to submit a detailed scholarship application in hopes of being selected as a Finalist and/or National Merit Scholarship recipient in the spring. Congratulations to Sam, Andrew, and Theresa on this accomplishment!

CAMPUS MINISTRY NEWS Dear Sophomore Parents of Boys: On Friday September 21, 2018 the sophomores from Lourdes High School will be participating in a Retreat Day emphasizing the theme: Christian Manhood- Developing a life of prayer, virtue, and faith. Name of event: Sophomore Retreat Day: Christian Manhood Date and Time: Friday, September 21, 2018, 8:00am-3:00pm Method of transportation: Students must provide their own transportation to and from this event. Students will celebrate Mass with the Resurrection Community. Dress Code: Students are allowed to be out of dress code for the day. Appropriate clothing for the day is required. No sweat pants, sweat shorts or shorts. Jeans are permitted. Bring: A sack lunch, beverage or money for pop machine. Note: *Please keep us in prayer for a meaningful day and inquire about the retreat experience when your son arrives home. We will also consider how images from pop culture influence our assessments of beauty in relationship to gender expectations, expression, and performance. A hope embedded in this retreat is that participants will expand their understanding of beauty and discover how they manifest beauty in our world. If students are driving they are to park near Canticle Park which is to the right at the very top of the hill near the open green space. If your student is involved in a Fall Activity, you are invited to join us at Mass on Sunday, September 16th, 11:15 a.m. at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. The students will sit together as a group and be recognized. It's that time of year again for the fall sports walk-in clinic on Saturday mornings at Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine. Stop by the Activities Office or before any Lourdes High School Athletic event to purchase your All Sports Ticket which allows you admission into regular season home games. The pass is $50 for 10 punches.
GENERAL NEWS We are excited to have had Mr John Van Rooy LHS '02 Graduate and his wife, Chayma come for a visit from Saudi Arabia. John has traveled all over the world since graduating from Lourdes High School as a Peace Activist, Educator and a Student of Spirituality. Click the title of this article to read more information. There will be a planning meeting for the Senior Party in the LHS Forum at 7:00 pm on October 15th. Any parent or guardian interested in helping out is welcome to attend.
SYSTEM NEWS The Diocese of Winona-Rochester requires all employees, coaches, and volunteers to participate in the VIRTUS Safe Environment training program. A class room training session will be offered on Monday, September 17th at 6pm at Lourdes HS - Room 134. If this date is not convenient, there are multiple dates and locations around the area available for your consideration. Online registration is required.
