Principal's Message Artwork from Ms. Sobotka's 3rd grade As we prepare for Holy Week next week, it can be hard for children to process the events of the Passion of our Lord. Even as an adult, I'm not sure that I can comprehend what Christ's apostles were faced with in the Garden of Gethsemane or being among the crowd as Pontius Pilate relented to its demands of crucifying Jesus. However, it is said that as Christians, we are an Easter people; this means that while it is vitally important in our faith to understand the sacrifice Jesus made for us through his Passion, it is the gift of the resurrection that is the bedrock of our faith. The love of God is so fierce and all-encompassing that Jesus was willing to suffer for humanity in order to open the Kingdom of heaven. These pictures from our third graders give great visual representation to me of how I feel about Holy Week; we have Christ at the center, with a stark reminder of the crucifixion, but the overwhelming radiance of the colors symbolizes his love that radiates from the resurrection upon all people. May God be with you Always, Dave Jenson St. Pius X Principal
