Kindergarteners honoring their elders during the student council themed dress day. Message from the Principal As we say goodbye to the 3rd quarter, we have also journeyed halfway through our Lenten season. We continue to embrace opportunities to grow in faithfulness, and to honor our God by prayer, fasting and almsgiving. We are also turning to the next season as we enter spring break. I hope during the upcoming break all of our students, parents, and staff can take time to recharge and spend time with their family and friends. I am looking forward to all the fun 4th quarter will bring! Have a wonderful week! Blessings, Andy Poterucha Principal, St. Francis of Assisi School |

May 6th will be the St. Francis School Carnival and Raffle. Raffle tickets were sent home today with students. Each family can sell or purchase the tickets for $1 each themselves and can also request more tickets if desired. All tickets not sold will have to be returned to school. Donations are also being collected for raffle prizes. Click here for details about how to donate. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Next year we will offer an all day/five day preschool class at St Francis in addition to our current schedule of half day classes. This class will follow a school day schedule (8:30 - 3:15) and will be for children who are 4 or 5 years old by September 1,2022. We are in the process of outfitting a beautiful new classroom and will hire an excellent teacher for the class. Now we need to get the word out about this new program so we can fill the room with children! Parents have always been our best marketing ambassadors. Do you know a family who might be interested in all day preschool? Please encourage them to call our school office for more information or to set up a tour. We appreciate you sharing this information with your friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Thank you for your support! We will be having Penny Wars here at St. Francis School and across Rochester Catholic Schools. This will begin April 6th and will run through Thursday April 14th. The proceeds from this coin drive will go to support the Red Lake Reservation here in Minnesota. More details will be sent home with your students after spring break. March 25 - April 1 is spring break and no school. April 6 is National Paraprofessional Day. April 8 is a non-uniform day for the first Friday of the month. April 11 is the deadline to order yearbooks. May 19 is VIP Day. More details to follow. You may be receiving emails from TreeRing about yearbook ordering. TreeRing is the company making the yearbooks this year and the emails are legitimate. Fliers went home today from TreeRing regarding yearbook ordering and with the St. Francis School passcode to enter on the website. Click here for the same flier in case you missed it. ALL YEARBOOK ORDERS MUST BE PLACED ONLINE AND ARE DUE APRIL 11. There will not be an opportunity to order after that date. Please click here for the April lunch menu. We are still in need of help with volunteering. Below are sign-ups for both the lunchroom and the library. If you have questions on how to become a volunteer, please contact the office and they will get you the required forms. We are always in need of parents, grandparents, or relatives to help us out. RCS is excited to host Kindergarten Round-Up on May 5 for our 2022-2023 Kindergarten students and guardians from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at your school campus. Additional information was emailed to our Kindergarten families this week. For questions, please contact your school office. Our 2022-2023 preschool families have received information about our "Pop In for Preschool" event. Please mark your calendars and stop by your school office with your completed paperwork on these dates to complete your enrollment process. We are working through individual tuition agreements and need a few more weeks to process financial aid and parish grant applications. Thank you for your patience as we continue this work! Reminder: A $100.00 deposit per student will be required at the time of signing your tuition agreement. This deposit will be credited to your 2022-2023 tuition. A friendly reminder that the Seeds of Faith grant application is available in each school office. This grant is need-based and funds are available to families who wish to have their students attend Catholic schools but have limited income and work opportunities. Applications should be mailed to the Catholic Foundation. Applications due by May 13. Save the date for the LHS Senior Class Fundraiser on March 23! The Tap House West End, 2365 Commerce Drive NW, will donate 25% of sales ALL DAY to support the senior class celebration. Dine-in or take out. Be sure to mention Lourdes Senior Class when you order. Pre-order online at taphouse.hrpos.heartland.us/menu. |
Please be sure to check the Activities Broadcast sent on Wednesdays for all RCS system activities. |
