Principal's Message Ms. Schmitt Pre-K Scott P. Richert wrote, "Advent is a period of preparation extending over the four Sundays before Christmas. The word Advent comes from the Latin advenio, "to come to," and refers to the coming of Christ. And the term the coming includes three references: first of all, to our celebration of Christ's birth at Christmas; second, to the coming of Christ in our lives through grace and the Sacrament of Holy Communion; and finally, to his second coming at the end of time." Generally, the mindset surrounding the season of Advent is focused on the "waiting" aspect, but we should be mindful of how we wait. We are not merely passive bystanders, letting the days pass us by in December until it is suddenly Christmas Eve; rather, we should be actively living out our faith by cheering on the good in others, preparing our hearts for Christ, and being Christ for others. Just like our PreK class watched in awe and wonder as our upper playground received a much needed facelift on Thursday, let us await the coming of our Lord with joy and excitement in our hearts! May God be with you Always,
Dave Jenson
