Weekly School Broadcast Be a HERO! St. Francis students learned about the virtue of Faith and what it means to be a hero this week!
Message from the Principal
Happy Mid-Quarter Friday St. Francis community! It feels like we are going back into summer with how warm it has been this week! I guess God wants us to enjoy it while we can! It was nice to have everyone back in the building after a busy week of Eagle Bluff for our junior high and homecoming for Rochester Catholic Schools. I am looking forward to next week as we focus on St. Francis. It will be great to celebrate his feast day together on Monday, October 4th.
God Bless,
Andy
School News This year we will not be able to host Grandparents Day in October because of the pandemic. We are looking at a date in the spring to host this event as we truly treasure all our grandparents. They are truly assets and gifts to our young people. Look for more information in the spring. RCS is once again planning an 8 day tour of the Washington DC area June 22-29, 2022. This trip is offered to 7th and 8th grade students. Legacy Tours plans/organizes this fantastic opportunity for our students. To share this opportunity with the students a representative from Legacy Tours will be visiting St. Francis and St. John's schools to speak with the students. St. Francis students will have their meeting on October 14th in the morning at school. The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is Monday, October 4th. To honor and celebrate the namesake of our school we are having a prayer service at Homestead Park (view the link here for the address). The service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday October 4th. Our students and staff will walk to the park beginning at 1:35 pm. Parents are welcome to join this event as we will be blessing some animals that some of our own St. Francis families have been gracious enough to share! If the weather does not cooperate with us that day, we will have a smaller gathering in the gymnasium at school, however parents will not be able to attend. Thank you to all that have signed up to help out at school! Below are sign-ups for both the lunchroom and the library. If you have questions on how to become a volunteer, please contact the office and they will get you the required forms. Our HSA is always looking for volunteers. We are looking forward to seeing many of you at different functions throughout the school year! Please click on the link to get connected with our different opportunities! October is Respect for Life month. We will be participating in the Baby Bottle Campaign for Catholic Charities. Students will be able to pick up a baby bottle, fill it with coins, bills or checks and return it to school. This money goes to support the work of Catholic Charities to provide resources that help moms, babies, and adoption. Bottles will be available in the school lobby beginning October 4th and all donations are due by October 29th. Thank you in advance for your generous support. Picture retake day for kindergarten through 8th grade students will be the morning of Thursday, October 14. This will also be picture day for the Tuesday/Thursday AM preschool students. As a reminder, fall conferences at St. Francis this year will be held virtually on Tuesday, October 5th and Thursday, October 7th. Please use this link to sign up for conferences next week.
