Weekly School Broadcast Go Eagles!! Today was Spirit Day for RCS! We had Lourdes High School athletes, band, and Homecoming King and Queen visit us today out in the parking lot! We cheered and sang the school song together!! Everyone enjoyed it! What a great way to wrap up Homecoming Week!
Students continue to focus and do their best on the NWEA tests! Please make sure your child gets good rest and breakfast so they have the fuel to work hard each day! This is a great way for teachers to get a baseline of where each student is at academically to start the school year. They will take NWEA tests again in the winter and spring to see their growth.
Please look for electronic sign-up for Conferences (Oct. 5/7) coming soon!
God bless, Miss Heimer
School News We had the best morning celebrating Lourdes Homecoming with a visit this morning from the marching band, athletes, cheerleaders and students from Lourdes High School. Congratulations to the Homecoming King and Queen who were students from Holy Spirit! Please click here for a few clips and photos from the morning. When dropping your child(ren) off in the car line in the morning, PLEASE have them exit from the passenger's side. If you need to get out of the car, you need to park and walk your child(ren) over. This is for the safety of everyone. The October lunch menu will be sent out in the next few days. The head chef of Taher is still working on the menu. Please mark your calendar. Fall Conferences are being held on Oct. 5th and Oct. 7th from 4pm and 6pm. A sign up site will be coming soon for you to pick your day and time slot. Friday, October 1st is non uniform top and bottoms. Friday, October 8th is HERO t-shirt and uniform bottom or full uniform. The HERO shirts should be in for the next one. Many kids will be in full uniform. Friday, October 15th is House t-shirt and uniform bottoms. Not all students have House t-shirts. The House program is a student mentoring program we do here at HS. If you are a new student k-5, or in kindergarten, here is the color top you can wear, or you can wear your regular school uniform. Grade K and 3 wear black or teal top. Grade 1 and 4 royal blue/blue top. Grade 2 and 5 black or green top. Friday, October 29th is Spirit Day. Any Holy Spirit/RCS/purple and gold top with uniform bottom. (For kindergarten students, it is Scarecrow Day. Information from your teacher will come.) Please do not drop your student/s off in the morning on the blacktop before two things- 1. It is 8:00am or later and 2. You see a grown up outside ready for supervision. These grown ups wear a neon yellow vest. Please have a spare set of clothing or uniform set in your student's backpack. Please think of the disruption that can come in the middle of your work day if your child would need you to run home and bring in a spare set. Thank you! At this time we do not accept only a face shield as a primary form of face covering. Students do need to wear a clean, fabric or disposable face mask to school. You child can wear a shield in addition to a face mask if they wish but it is not required. RCS is in the midst of transitioning the billing coordinator for Preschool Extended Care and School Age Extended Care using Procare. Those families that utilize Extended Care will receive notification within the next couple of weeks regarding your billing statement. We apologize for this delay. If your child is going to be missing school for any reason please notify the school office and your classroom teacher in advance, or as soon as possible. You can call school or send an email. If you do not notify school, someone will be calling you. This is for your child's safety. 507-288-8818 or hsattendance@rcsmn.org. Please review the MDH COVID-19 Decision Tree here. We will be following the guideline listed. We appreciate you making your after school plan with your children before you drop them for the day. Teachers are very busy teaching all day with very little break time to review messages or take multiple interruptions during the day. Thank you. Other than preschool families that will enter the church doors for student exchange, student drop offs with hugs, kisses and well wishes will be outside of the school. All grown ups collecting students at the end of the day will remain outside on the sidewalk/blacktop or lined up in your vehicle. The main school office is happily open for parents to turn in forms, fees and ask questions. Anyone entering the school building must check in the main office first. Thank you! Mark your calendar! Picture Day is going to be Friday, November 19th. Additional details to come. We are looking for more lunchroom volunteers. Please read this short message here from our lunchroom volunteer coordinator. Volunteering in the lunchroom is a great and easy way to get involved at school and enjoy your child with their classmates. Click here to volunteer. Thank you! Student safety and well-being is the priority of RCS and the Diocese of Winona, all volunteers are required to take part in the “VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children” volunteer training program. Click here to learn more and sign up for the training. Please reach the Holy Spirit Office 507-288-8818 or email: kclemens@rcsmn.org if you have questions or need any assistance. Once the training is done please notify Mrs. Clemens and she will prompt the online background check. Check your SchoolAdmin parent portal here.
