Weekly School Broadcast Be a HERO!! Students have or soon will be getting their HERO t-shirts to wear certain days of the school year! What a great way to unite as a school! HERO stands for Helping Everyone Respect Others. This is a big part of who we are! We foster educating our students to not just excel academically, but also social/emotionally. Wearing the t-shirts each month at school shows how we work together as a team to make sure that everyone at school feels safe and happy. We have so enjoyed our first full week of school! You can definitely see that everyone is getting acquainted with their new classrooms, teachers, and schedules. Have a nice weekend!
God bless, Miss Heimer
School News Please do not drop your student/s off in the morning on the blacktop before two things- 1. It is 8:00am or later and 2. You see a grown up outside ready for supervision. These grown ups wear a neon yellow vest. Please have a spare set of clothing or uniform set in your student's backpack. Please think of the disruption that can come in the middle of your work day if your child would need you to run home and bring in a spare set. Thank you! At this time we do not accept only a face shield as a primary form of face covering. Students do need to wear a clean, fabric or disposable face mask to school. You child can wear a shield in addition to a face mask if they wish but it is not required. RCS is in the midst of transitioning the billing coordinator for Preschool Extended Care and School Age Extended Care using Procare. Those families that utilize Extended Care will receive notification within the next couple of weeks regarding your billing statement. We apologize for this delay. Thank you to our preschool families for using the church doors for entering and exiting each morning. Lessening the flow through the main school front doors is best for our K-5 students. If your child is going to be missing school for any reason please notify the school office and your classroom teacher in advance, or as soon as possible. You can call school or send an email. If you do not notify school, someone will be calling you. This is for your child's safety. 507-288-8818 or hsattendance@rcsmn.org. Please review the MDH COVID-19 Decision Tree here. We will be following the guideline listed. We appreciate you making your after school plan with your children before you drop them for the day. Teachers are very busy teaching all day with very little break time to review messages or take multiple interruptions during the day. Thank you. Other than preschool families that will enter the church doors for student exchange, student drop offs with hugs, kisses and well wishes will be outside of the school. All grown ups collecting students at the end of the day will remain outside on the sidewalk/blacktop or lined up in your vehicle. The main school office is happily open for parents to turn in forms, fees and ask questions. Anyone entering the school building must check in the main office first. Thank you! The flu clinic is Thursday, September 23rd for the students that are registered. Mark your calendar! Picture Day is going to be Friday, November 19th. Additional details to come. Friday, September 10th is a full non-uniform day. Friday, September 17th is HERO t-shirt day with uniform bottoms. Friday, September 24th is House t-shirt day with uniform bottom. Not all students have House t-shirts. The House program is a student mentoring program we do here at HS. If you are a new student k-5, or in kindergarten this is the color top you can wear, or you can wear your regular school uniform. Grade K and 3 wear black or teal top. Grade 1 and 4 royal blue/blue top. Grade 2 and 5 black or green top. We are looking for more lunchroom volunteers. Please read this short message here from our lunchroom volunteer coordinator. Volunteering in the lunchroom is a great and easy way to get involved at school and enjoy your child with their classmates. Click here to volunteer. Thank you! Student safety and well-being is the priority of RCS and the Diocese of Winona, all volunteers are required to take part in the “VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children” volunteer training program. Click here to learn more and sign up for the training. Please reach the Holy Spirit Office 507-288-8818 or email: kclemens@rcsmn.org if you have questions or need any assistance. Once the training is done please notify Mrs. Clemens and she will prompt the online background check. Check your SchoolAdmin parent portal here. There are many families with check list items not completed.
