School News Please join us for donuts and juice on the first day of school. Donuts and juice will be served 7:45am-8:15am on Monday, August 30th. All families are welcome to join in on the blacktop to help celebrate the 1st day of school. If you are in grade 1-5 your first day of school is Monday, August 30th. If you are in preschool or kindergarten you will have a shortened small group day on August 30th or 31st. Your first full day of school will be Wednesday, September 1. Preschool and kindergarten families should have gotten an email with your designated teacher, small group day, and time. Please call the office if you need assistance. 507-288-8818. The first bell will ring at 8:15am for students to enter the building and school starts at 8:25am. Students can be dropped off from 8:00am - 8:15am and they can line up in their grade area on the blacktop. Your student cannot be dropped off sooner than 8:00am as there is not supervision. School ends at 3:05pm. Please be at school ready to pick up your child/children at 3:05pm. We understand St. John families will be doing their best with safe travels between schools. Preschool follows a little bit of a different routine with parent/teacher face to face drop off exchange and location. Instructions will come from your classroom teacher as each may be a little bit different. The time frames are very similar. Preschoolers get released to parents at 3:00.
Other than preschool families that will enter the church doors for student exchange, student drop offs with hugs, kisses and well wishes will be outside of the school. All grown ups collecting students at the end of the day will remain outside on the sidewalk/blacktop or lined up in your vehicle. The main school office is happily open for parents to turn in forms, fees and ask questions. Anyone entering the school building must check in the main office first. Thank you! If your child is going to be missing school for any reason please notify the school office and your classroom teacher in advance, or as soon as possible. You can call school or send an email. If you do not notify school, someone will be calling you. This is for your child's safety. 507-288-8818 or hsattendance@rcsmn.org. Please join our Home and School Association meeting Monday, September 13th at 6:30pm. HSA will meet in room 105 at school. All parents are part of HSA and are able to attend. This folder is stuffed with important information, items to go through, and items to keep at home. Return the empty folder every Monday in your students backpack after you have gone through it. Thank you. We are looking for more lunchroom volunteers. Please read this short message here from our lunchroom volunteer coordinator. Volunteering in the lunchroom is a great and easy way to get involved at school and enjoy your child with their classmates. Click here to volunteer. Thank you!
