Weekly School Broadcast Principal's Message 'Sunsets & Sails' from Mrs. Anderson's 2nd grade
As we come upon the home stretch of our school year, the excitement of learning, growing, and praying together continues to be felt within our building. It has not always been the smoothest of sailing this year, but as Jesus calls out in Matthew 14:27-29, '"Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus.' Of course, we remember that Peter became frightened and his faith was shaken, leading him to begin to sink. Let us not lose our faith in times of turbulence throughout our lives, instead turning toward the Lord until we return again to peaceful waters.

Starting Thursday, April 29th, each day has an activity, event, or theme and it progresses through the alphabet. Our first day is “A for Animal” - students may bring a small stuffed animal that fits in their backpack to school on April 29th.Click here for the complete countdown list.Your child will be bringing home a copy of the specific events for each day in their Friday folder. Friday, April 30th will be a purple & gold school spirit non-uniform day. We are excited to be able to participate in two St. Pius X School traditions: a picnic day where we walk to Cooke Park, and early dismissal after Mass on the last day of school. We are still working on the final details. Our walk to Cooke Park will happen, weather dependent, sometime during the final week of school. The final date will be determined toward the end of May so we can attempt to get the best weather possible. On Friday, June 4th, we will celebrate Mass at 9:15 and then starting at 11 AM we will have early dismissal with our regular carline. Supervision will be provided at the school until noon if you are unable to pickup your child(ren) right away. Does your 3rd-5th grader love to write or draw? Do they want to learn how to write a mystery, make amazing origami creations, or draw their own superheroes? If so, they should join us for the upcoming Young Authors, Young Artists (YAYA) conference! This year the conference will be held virtually during the week of May 10th. Participating students will virtually attend one or two live sessions during the school day, and will have the option to watch pre-recorded versions of four or five additional sessions. Please see the attached session descriptions for more information-note that the session schedule is still to be determined. The cost of the conference is $10 per family. However, we're hoping to have enough students sign up that it would make it feasible for us to purchase a school pass. If this does happen, school funds would be used and there would be no charge for participating students.
