Weekly School Broadcast After taking a moment to reflect on where we were last year at this time, it's quite clear that we've found a new appreciation in creatively celebrating the events that are important to our school. St. Patrick's Day wasn't only about wearing green, but about looking forward to the activities and events that were set aside last year and appreciating a fresh new perspective in what lies ahead. Together we have all celebrated a milestone this week.
We are ever grateful for your continued support throughout this very unique year. May the Lord continue to guide us and protect us and may our Lady of Lourdes pray for us.

Academics Spring Break & Easter - Reminder that there is No School - Friday, March 26 - Monday, April 5th. School will resume on Tuesday, April 6th. Mrs. Groven met with seniors this week to discuss scholarship applications. The Lourdes website is a great starting point to identify scholarship opportunities. We have links to several scholarship search sites as well as a list of local scholarships. We encourage students to check the Lourdes page frequently and to watch for announcements on Mrs. Groven’s Google Classroom page. Lourdes Foundation scholarship applications were recently posted to the Lourdes website. There are several other local scholarships with deadlines during or right after spring break. If students have questions about scholarship opportunities, they should visit the counseling office. Please contact Ms. Spring if you are in need of transportation in the fall. We are looking to ascertain how many families need assistance with transportation for the fall. Wearing masks properly is imperative during the pandemic so it is important that masks should fit securely over the nose and mouth. Since we have had to wear masks for quite some time, the straps of masks can be stretched out so they no longer stay firmly over the nose when the wearer speaks or leans down. Please check whether your student needs a new mask; if there is a difficulty with obtaining a new mask, please contact us.
Campus Ministry On Friday, April 9, 2021 you will be participating in a required retreat day. We are very excited to provide this opportunity for you after a year of many COVID losses. The retreat invites you to step outside of your daily routine for a time of prayer, reflection and community that can aid you in discovering God’s presence anew. This retreat focuses on evidence of God’s goodness in our lives. Through reflection on your high school experience, you will be invited to consider how God’s goodness has been present in your own life. We will attend Mass, hear from a number of speakers, partake in various activities and small groups, and spend time in Adoration throughout the day. Information that you need to know: Questions can be directed to Ms. Smith, ksmith@rscmn.org Adoration will be held in the Lourdes Chapel every Friday morning, 7:15am - 12:00pm, during second semester. Parents and members of the Lourdes community are invited to come and pray with us. For more information about Adoration and our COVID protocol, please contact Katherine Smith (ksmith@rcsmn.org). We are also looking for people to sign up for a weekly Adoration time. If you would like to sign up for a regular time, please email Katherine Smith at ksmith@rcsmn.org.

As we see Minnesota and Olmsted County COVID-19 cases increase, we are asking families to please continue to follow the MDH Decision Tree when assessing their student’s health status. If you decide to keep your child home, please include the symptoms that your child is experiencing when you call the school or email lhsattendance@rcsmn.org. If your child has one of the more common symptoms (temp greater or equal to 100.4,new onset/worsening cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell) OR two less common symptoms (sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new onset of severe headache, new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose) we are going to request that your child have a COVID-19 test before they return to school. We ask, even when your child isn't in school, that you communicate with the high school if your child has tested positive for Covid 19. As COVID continues and flu season begins, we all need to continue to be cautious and do what we can to protect fellow students and staff so we can safely stay open. The time has come to submit Senior photos! Please submit senior photos before March 22 to Mr. Sinn (risinn@rcsmn.org).
