Weekly School Broadcast Principal's Message Artwork from Preschool with Ms. Schmitt
During Lent, it can be easy to fall into an attitude of dwelling on the things we have "given up" or refrain from doing during this time. However, I think it is important to focus on the positive changes and spiritual renewal we can participate in during Lent. I recall what Mr. Garry used to write on his white board in chemistry class at Lourdes High School: L.E.N.T. = Let's Eliminate Negative Tendencies. Our preschool students thought of six ways that they could spread kindness and posted these outside of their classroom this week. The sheer joy that one feels walking into a classroom at our school is a reminder that we are a community of faith, filled with the Holy Spirit, and that we are disciples of Christ with hope to bring to the world.
School News We will have a “wear green” non-uniform day to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, March 17th. On Friday next week, our non-uniform day theme is “Career Day.” Students are invited to dress up like someone in a career they enjoy, admire, or are interested in. We welcome you to share with your child about different professions and your own journey. As a reward for the outstanding participation during “I Love to Read Month,” our girls voted on this particular theme and selected “Career Day.” Look for a yearbook order form in your child’s Friday folder. You can order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com with our Yearbook ID code of 14160621 or return the order form to school by March 25th if you would like to pay by check. This year, the yearbook cost is $15. A huge thank you to Mrs. Sobotka and Mrs. Cheryl Nienhuis for being our editors! If your family will be travelling for spring break, please be mindful of the RCS policy regarding a 48 hour quarantine after you return home. This allows for time in case there is a need for notification of a close contact to a confirmed case of Covid-19. For example, if your family returns home on Saturday at noon, the 48 quarantine would be in effect until noon on Monday.
