Weekly School Broadcast Principal's Message Artwork from Grade 3 with Mrs. AbiMansour
As we concluded "I Love to Read" Month, I want to recognize the tremendous efforts of our students who spent additional time reading outside of the classroom. This February, our students reported reading over 178,000 pages! Both the girls and boys set new records for the reported number of pages read during the month. As our NWEA scores have shown, St. Pius X School has some prodigious readers, and we will continue nurturing this lifelong skill. I want to especially thank Mr. Brett Amundson and Mrs. Joanie Sobotka for their work in getting the students excited about reading and to all of our classroom teachers and support staff who are critical in nurturing our students.
School News There will be no school on Friday, March 5th for a staff professional development day. Look for a yearbook order form in your child’s Friday folder. You can order online at ybpay.lifetouch.com with our Yearbook ID code of 14160621 or return the order form to school by March 25th if you would like to pay by check. This year, the yearbook cost is $15. A huge thank you to Mrs. Sobotka and Mrs. Cheryl Nienhuis for being our editors! We will have a school spirit Purple & Gold Day on Friday, March 12th. We will have a “wear green” non-uniform day to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Wednesday, March 17th. If your family will be travelling for spring break, please be mindful of the RCS policy regarding a 48 hour quarantine after you return home. This allows for time in case there is a need for notification of a close contact to a confirmed case of Covid-19. For example, if your family returns home on Saturday at noon, the 48 quarantine would be in effect until noon on Monday.
