Weekly School Broadcast On January 26th, the National Honor Society provided a meal for the members of the Jeremiah Program. The Jeremiah House (located across from Lourdes) provides housing and education for single mothers in the community. Our LHS students prepared and delivered a meal that fed 100 individuals! As a Catholic community rooted in Christ, our mission to serve is at the forefront of all that we do. As we finish up Catholic Schools Week, we are reminded of this mission and the impact we can have on this world. We are so proud of all of our students and the ways that they live out our mission!

Academics Wearing masks properly is imperative during the pandemic so it is important that masks should fit securely over the nose and mouth. Since we have had to wear masks for quite some time, the straps of masks can be stretched out so they no longer stay firmly over the nose when the wearer speaks or leans down. Please check whether your student needs a new mask; if there is a difficulty with obtaining a new mask, please contact us. Full in-person learning began on Monday, Feb 1st. It is expected that all students report in person, unless a distance learning request form has been turned in and approved.
Campus Ministry Adoration will be held in the Lourdes Chapel every Friday morning, 7:15am - 12:00pm, during second semester. Parents and members of the Lourdes community are invited to come and pray with us. For more information about Adoration and our COVID protocol, please contact Katherine Smith (ksmith@rcsmn.org). We are also looking for people to sign up for a weekly Adoration time. If you would like to sign up for a regular time, please email Katherine Smith at ksmith@rcsmn.org.
Athletics Athlete of the Week honors go to Boys Hockey player Jack Kleinschmidt Jack’s effort and consistency has been a key catalyst to our teams early success. This was on full display Friday evening when we were down by five goals at one point, and Jack’s intensity and relentless pursuit of the puck contributed to a come back which resulted in a 5-5 tie. Jack contributed four goals, but it’s been his commitment to never taking a shift off and rallying his teammates in all situations which makes him a great teammate. General As we see Minnesota and Olmsted County COVID-19 cases increase, we are asking families to please continue to follow the MDH Decision Tree when assessing their student’s health status. If you decide to keep your child home, please include the symptoms that your child is experiencing when you call the school or email lhsattendance@rcsmn.org. If your child has one of the more common symptoms (temp greater or equal to 100.4,new onset/worsening cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell) OR two less common symptoms (sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new onset of severe headache, new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose) we are going to request that your child have a COVID-19 test before they return to school. We ask, even when your child isn't in school, that you communicate with the high school if your child has tested positive for Covid 19. As COVID continues and flu season begins, we all need to continue to be cautious and do what we can to protect fellow students and staff so we can safely stay open.
