Weekly School Broadcast 2020-11-13 Picture of the Lion's Peace Posters
Each year our seventh graders participate in a Peace Poster contest sponsored by the Lion's Club. This year's theme is "Peace Through Service" and the following students' artwork has been selected as the St. Francis entries: Lydia Warmkagathje, Anna Wieneke, Stella Beatty, Kian McMenomy, Aidan Carnell and Sophia Kelly. Congratulations to all our artists.
School News A friendly reminder that we ask families to select this option a quarter at a time. Second quarter requests were due to the office on October 14th and extend through January 21st. If your child is quarantined for 14 days due to a positive COVID exposure or test in the household, we will move them to Stay at Home Learning for the length of their quarantine. If they are out of school awaiting test results or an alternate diagnosis, we will follow our regular absentee plan. As you can imagine, the reality of this plan is challenging! We appreciate your patience and understanding. We are reminding all school families that the handicapped parking spots are for vehicles with handicapped permits, licenses or stickers. PLEASE do not park in these spots - even if they are empty. You may be inconveniencing someone who needs the closer spot. Thank you for your attention to this. Thank you for your generous support of Catholic Charities Baby Bottle Campaign during Respect for Life Month. Saint Francis of Assisi students donated $465.70 for this cause. A check has been sent to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Winona-Rochester. Please join RCS on our Annual Day of Giving, Tuesday, November 17th. Mrs. Plenge will be hosting a drive up donation table at the school entrance that day from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Please visit the RCS website (www.rcsmn.org) to donate online. Thank you in advance for your generous support. Please join our Student Council and Church of the Resurrection as we collect nonperishable food items for Operation One More. Items needed were assigned to each grade. Donations will be accepted through December 4th. Please click here for the flyer. Thanks, in advance, for your participation. The Diocese of Winona-Rochester will provide a prompt, appropriate and compassionate response to reporters of sexual abuse of a child by any diocesan agent (employees, volunteers, vendors, religious or clergy). Anyone wishing to make a report of an allegation of sexual abuse should call the Victim Assistance Coordinator at 507-454-2270, Extension 255. A caller will be asked to provide his or her name and telephone number. Individuals are also encouraged to take their reports directly to civil authorities. The Diocese of Winona-Rochester is committed to protecting children, young people and other vulnerable people in our schools, parishes and ministries. The diocesan policy is available on the diocesan web site at www.dowr.org under the Safe Environment Program. If you have any questions about the Diocese of Winona's implementation of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, please contact Mary Hamann, at 507-858-1244, or mhamann@dowr.org.
