Dear Lourdes Families:
It is my sincere hope that this communication finds you and your families safe and in good health. As we plan to reopen our school, our priority is to ensure that our students, teachers and staff can confidently return to a safe and healthy campus that is conducive to learning, work, and faith formation.
These are the steps that will lead up to the final plan:
As we prepare for the arrival of the students, we are mindful of the excitement of the upcoming school year! Please know that the faculty, staff, and administration look forward to working in partnership with all of you throughout the coming year to continue the Lourdes tradition of cultivating a Christ-centered learning community, forming students who love, learn, and live their faith in service to others. To help you plan, please note the following important dates and information related to the start of this school year. The first day of school is August 31, 2020.
WELCOME TO THE CLASS of 2024! We are so excited to have you as a part of the Lourdes family! This year, we will have our 9th grade orientation in two parts! Part I will be held at LHS on Wednesday, August 26. This quick event will be scheduled for school photos and Chromebook pick up. Other necessary information will be included in a Freshman packet that will be available just for you! Students should enter through the Athletic Wing and proceed to the Multi-Purpose Room for pictures. Students must wear appropriate attire for pictures. Each student must wear a mask in the building and will be allowed to take the mask off for his/her picture. Plan on 20 minutes!
Students (last names) A - D 9:00am - 9:20am E - J 9:30am - 9:50am K - N 10:00am - 10:20am O - S 10:30am - 10:50am T - Z 11:00am - 11:30am
Part II will be held online on with Mrs. Groven via Zoom on Thursday morning, August 27 at 11:00am. During that meeting, she will walk you through the contents of that packet and other important information. Time will be set aside for Qs and As and even a surprise or two!
If you plan to shop for school supplies in the near future, a great place to start is with the basics. One single subject notebook and folder for each class, blue and black pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters (2), loose leaf paper and a backpack are the essentials. Other possible items will be determined by the teacher and communicated on the first day of class.
Please join us for parent orientation. It will be a virtual event and will be held during mid-September.
MASKS Masks will be required to be worn, except while eating. We understand that Donald's Uniform Company has masks with LHS logos. Students are NOT required to purchase those masks. They are simply being made available by the company. It goes without saying however that the mask must be appropriate.
Schedule Pick Up will be held for students in grades 10 – 12 on Tuesday, August 26. Students will take care of necessary school business, including Chromebook and schedule pick up. Time is also set aside for school photos. School uniforms are not required, but appropriate clothing should be worn. Each student must wear a mask in the building and will be allowed to take the mask off for his/her picture. Students are to come to school at their designated time and enter via the Athletics entrance, door 6.
Students (last names) A - D 9:00am - 9:20am E - J 9:30am - 9:50am K - N 10:00am - 10:20am O - S 10:30am - 10:50am T - Z 11:00am - 11:30am
Seniors: The school picture taken on this day will appear on your college transcript.
Students in grades 10 - 12 who plan to park their vehicle at Lourdes High School are required to purchase a parking permit prior to the beginning of the school year. Parking passes cost $175 *if you opted to transfer a credit from the 2019-2020 4th Quarter your cost is $131.25. Parking passes purchased later in the year will be prorated. This fee allows us to maintain the parking lot for snow removal, painting/striping, lot sealing and signage. Driving to school is a privilege and students must abide by the parking lot rules. These rules will be explained in detail on Welcome Day. In order to have the necessary information on file, students will be required to fill out the Parking Permit Information form which will be emailed to the students in mid-August. Once the form is electronically returned, students may bring a check to the proper table on Welcome Day and passes will be issued. Students must have the electronic form completed prior to Schedule Pick up day and check in hand to receive their pass.
