SCHOOL NEWS Holy Spirit Preschool Blessing and Photo Send Off for preschoolers moving on to kindergarten next year will be held Thursday June 4th from 9:00 am-5:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic School. Preschool Teachers have put together an outdoor photo opportunity backdrop to celebrate our Little Birds leaving The Nest and will be available to say a blessing over each child. Please stop in any time during those hours to participate. Teachers will be working in their rooms between family visits, therefore we ask parents to ring the school doorbell located to the right of the second set of main entrance doors when they arrive. Teachers will then come out (honoring social distancing) to give each soon-to-be-kindergartener their preschool send off. If you can not make it during those hours, please contact your child's teacher, and we will do our best to arrange a time to meet with you earlier or later that day. All Kindergarten through 5th graders families are invited to stop by school one last time this year to pick-up or drop-off materials on Monday, June 1st between 8 am and 6 pm. Yearbooks will be distributed at this time, textbooks will be turned in, chromebooks from students in grades 3-5 will be turned in, and Mr. Smith has a joke book to present to each family. Your student's homeroom teacher will be in communication about what additional items need to be dropped off or picked up on this date. *Preschool families may be contacted about possible pick-up items as well- please look for communication from your child's teacher on specifics. The yearbooks have arrived at school and will distributed at your student's next pick-up/drop-off event, either May 18th or the first week in June! For families who still want to purchase a yearbook, please follow this link. Thank you. Our Friendzy theme this month focuses on the importance of friendship. Why would we take the time to study friendship? Jesus reminds us that there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend- so it is important to teach our students how to be a friend, how to maintain friendships, and how to appreciate the friendships we have. Please click here for this month's Friendzy parent letter and here for a conversation card to facilitate a discussion with your student about the gift of friendship. Thank you to all that have been clipping those box tops, scanning those receipts and loading them onto the BTFE app! If you haven't downloaded the FREE app yet, now is a great time to start! Box Tops will soon be all digital-no clipping necessary. Just scan your receipt within 2 weeks of purchase and your work is done. If you have unexpired physical box tops, they can be turned in during our final 2 material pick ups.

We all have many questions about the format for the next school year. As of today, we have planned for a return to in-person classes this fall. We will implement any requirements from health officials to ensure the safety of all students and staff for this to happen. These circumstances will continue to be monitored throughout the summer and if any adjustments need to be made to instruction delivery, services, tuition, etc., we will communicate those changes to you at the appropriate time. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to Catholic education. If you cannot remember your login credentials, please click on "Forgot your username or password: from the login page here.
