ACADEMIC NEWS The counseling office will be sending emails out to students this week to confirm their 2020-2021 course selection. Please let your student know they should watch their emails. We are pleased that the AP exams are on as scheduled. Please click here for an exam schedule. Questions regarding the administration of the AP exams can be directed to your child's instructor. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this new exam process.
If you still need to pay for your exam please click here. Please make sure that your exam is paid within 48 hours of the date of your exam. Each AP exam is $53 and you can pay for all exams your student is taking in one transaction. You will be directed to the same platform used to register for a sport at LHS. *If you have not yet created an account you will be prompted to create an account and add your student. To add your student you must have their DOB and student ID- which is their student number in Infinite Campus. If you have questions with this process please contact Samantha at sfavre@rcsmn.org The deadline to submit scholarship information to be included in awards day and the graduation program is Sunday, May 17th. Documentation of scholarships should be sent to jtschumperlin@rcsmn.org and can be an image of a letter received, a forwarded email from the college, or a screenshot of the student's college account listing the scholarship.
ATHLETIC NEWS We want to provide an update with regards to Summer Sports Camps and Strength & Conditioning. At this time we are still hopeful that we will be able to offer camps in some capacity. We are working on seeing how the camps will look while complying with health and safety guidelines. Until we know more, the buildings including the gymnasium and weight room remain closed. As soon as we have more information to pass along to you, we will communicate via Broadcasts, social media and coaches. In the meantime, keep being active and staying safe. Coaches are very anxious to see and work with all of you! On Tuesday, May 19th @ 6 pm there will be an informational ZOOM meeting for the 2020 volleyball season. All girls entering grades 7-12 for the 2020-21 school year are welcome to attend. Information about summer opportunities, camps, training programs and pre-season will be discussed. SYSTEM NEWS On Thursday, May 21, Twigs Tavern & Grille will donate 20% of all orders between 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. to the Rochester Area COVID-19 Community Support Fund (https://rochesterarea.org/together) on behalf of LHS Class of 2020! There is a matching grant of up to $300 from an anonymous donor for this day of giving. Orders can be placed online at https://www.twigstavernandgrille.com/ or by calling (507) 288-0206. They will bring your order out to your car, or you can walk in to pick it up. Please mark your calendars and show your support while enjoying a meal from Twigs! Due to limitations brought on by Covid-19, it is very important that you consult with your medical provider as soon as possible to schedule well-child checks and immunizations. Immunizations are deemed essential medical appointments to minimize serious health impacts for your child and ensure the safety of others in the RCS community. The MN Department of Health cautions that slowing or stopping access to vaccinations increases our risk of other disease outbreaks. Scrip will continue to be available on a monthly basis effective immediately until further notice. Orders will be due on the second Monday of each month by 10:00 a.m. Pick-up schedule will be the following Wednesday and Thursday of those weeks from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lourdes High School Activities Wing entrance (Ex: June 8 - orders due by 10:00 a.m.; June 10 and June 11 - order pick up). It is time to pre-order RCS apparel for the 2020 - 2021 school year. Students entering grades 6 - 10 are required to purchase the RCS PE Uniform. The PE uniform is required at St. John's for 6 - 8. At St. Francis, if you choose to change in grade 6, you must wear the same uniform as the 7 - 8 graders. In addition, RCS crew and 1/4 zip sweatshirts are available, along with numerous apparel and novelty items. For questions, please contact the Spirit Shop at spiritshop@rcsmn.org Rochester Catholic Schools offers Extended Day AM and PM Supervision Programs at Holy Spirit Catholic School for K-5, St. Francis of Assisi School for K-8; and St. Pius X School for K-5. Extended Day AM runs from 6:30 a.m. - 8:20 a.m. and Extended Day PM begins after school until 6:00 p.m. The Extended Day AM Supervision Program is also offered at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Middle School for grades 6-8. Now is the time to sign up if you will need this service for the 2020 -2021 school year. You will have the option to utilize the service everyday, specific days per week, or on a drop-in basis. The fee for the Extended Day AM program is $10.00 per day/per student, and the fee for the Extended Day PM program is $10.00 per day/per student. There will be a $10.00 late fee for every five minutes that students are in the Extended Day PM program after 6:00 p.m. Staffing is determined by the number of students signed up by May 20, 2020.
