SCHOOL NEWS Changes to the Lunchroom at St. Pius Ginni Cormack, the head cook in the kitchen at St. Pius, has submitted her resignation, effective Friday, January 17th. We thank Ginni for her years of service to St. Pius and the Rochester Catholic Schools. Ginni's departure brings about some changes to the kitchen/lunchroom at St. Pius. Taher Food Service will be taking over the responsibilities in the kitchen. We have seen success with Taher at St. John and are excited for what they will bring to St. Pius. Several questions may arise with this transition. Here are the questions we anticipate, with the answers to those questions... How will I put money into my child's account? - This will not change. You can continue to send a check (made out to St. Pius lunch) or add money via Infinite Campus. What about the food? - Taher will provide 2-3 different options per day, including fresh fruit and vegetables. What will lunch cost? - The price per meal will not change. What if I volunteer? - We anticipate the need for volunteers. Thank you for generously giving your time.
Book Fair is Coming to St. Pius We will be holding our annual Scholastic book fair during Catholic Schools Week this year. This is an important fundraiser for our library with all monies raised going towards purchasing new library books. Students may bring money to school on Jan. 29, and all classes will have the opportunity to shop at the book fair. The book fair will also be open for purchasing during Family Fun Night on Jan. 30. This year Scholastic is introducing a new payment option called e-wallet which eliminates the need for kids to bring cash to school.
