SCHOOL NEWS Schulze Foundation - Grant We are blessed to have been provided with a challenge grant from the Schulze Foundation. The funds from this grant will be used to help make our school even better than it already is. Time For Literature, Fall 2019 Issue We are excited to share the newest issue of Time for Literature, the St. Pius/St. John's literary journal, with everyone in our school community. This fall, a total of eight St. John's students contributed their writing-please join us in congratulating them for all of their hard work! We will be starting on our next issue in January, and we're always looking for more contributors. If your child enjoys creative writing, please contact Mr. Amundson (bamundson@rcsmn.org) or Mrs. Montoya (pward-montoya@rcsmn.org) for more information about how they can be a part of Time for Literature. Please click here for the Fall Issue. Trivia Night All are invited to join us for a night of wits, laughs, and more at St. Pius X parish for Trivia Night 2020 on Friday, January 17th. Compete with in multiple rounds of trivia, play various games of skill and luck, enjoy our guest hosts, eat delicious pizza, and maybe even spin THE WHEEL! You don’t need to know trivia to have a great time! Tickets are on sale now for $15/person or for a team of 8 for $120 at www.piusx.org. Funds raised at this event support St. Pius X Youth Ministry. SYSTEM NEWS Preschool enrollment is now open for our current RCS families! Re-enrollment for your students in grades 1-12 will take place beginning Catholic Schools Week - watch for a mailing at that time. Because there are limited spaces available in our preschool programs, you will receive priority placement through December 31, 2019. On January 1, 2020, preschool enrollment will open to the general public and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Spaces are limited so enroll early! There is a wide variety of preschool program offerings offered for the 2020-2021 school year. To view a full list of preschool offerings, please click here. The Preschool Registration Fee if $50 for all preschool applications, with a family maximum of $100 in preschool registration fees, due when you enroll. To enroll you child in preschool for the 2020-2021 school year, please click here. If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions Office at admissions@rcsmn.org. Re-enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is coming soon! Look for more information in January with re-enrollment beginning in Catholic Schools Week. Please submit your order by 10:00 a.m. December 9th (delivered to schools December 12th, parishes December 14th and 15th) and December 16th (delivered to schools December 19th, parishes December 21st and 22nd). The Scrip Office will be closed December 23, 2019 - January 5, 2020. SYSTEM ACTIVITIES Congratulations to Coach Sean Kane on being named Co-Head Coach alongside his father Coach Tom Kane for Lourdes Boys Soccer team beginning with the 2020-2021 season. Coach Tom Kane will be retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 season at which time Coach Sean Kane will take over the program. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The newly launched Eagle Booster Club was established to support the general growth and development of athletics for students (grades 7-12) within Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS). Membership is comprised of RCS parents, alumni, community members, and businesses working together with goals to heighten, enhance, and enrich the athletics programs. Members promote and provide a high quality experience for students, coaches, directors, and fans through sponsorship opportunities, fundraising, and volunteer efforts.
