St. John Homecoming Celebration The St. John HSA is hosting a Homecoming celebration for our middle school students on Saturday, September 28th, 7-9 P.M. in the Holy Spirit gym. This is a casual dance with a live DJ and lots of fun. Tickets are $5 at the door. Chaperones are needed. SYSTEM NEWS First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation take place at your home parish and usually during 2nd grade. Please check with your parish for more information and to register your student if you haven't already. If you have a child that is older than 2nd grade but still needs to receive their First Eucharist please contact your parish. All youth in grades 6-8 are invited to Bowlocity (2810 North Broadway) for bowling, laser tag and other fun on Friday, September 20 from 7:00-9:00 PM. Friends welcome! Unite Ministries is sponsoring this event. Unite Ministries is a collaborative effort among Rochester area Catholic youth ministry program. Online Shop With Scrip orders submitted between September 17-27 will be processed September 30 with delivery to schools on October 2. The Scrip Office hours are: SYSTEM ACTIVITIES Victoria's Restorante will donate A portion of sales from Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29, toward LHS Fall Play production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine provides a Saturday morning injury clinic for Rochester area middle school, high school and college athletes injured during recent sports activities. The clinic will be open each Saturday September 7 to October 12 from 8 am to noon on the third floor of Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. Appointments are preferred, and can be scheduled by calling Mayo Clinic Sports Medicine at 507-266-6690, starting at 7:30 am each Saturday. For more information click here. Traveling Basketball Evaluations will be held for both boys and girls to help with team formation. These evaluations are conducted by varsity boys and girls head coaches, Coach Larson and Coach Berg. They will be held at Lourdes High School Gymnasium on the following dates/times: October 22 October 24 Youth basketball registration is now open for both boys and girls school ball and traveling. 7th and 8th graders are required to have a sports physical on file in the Activities Office prior to registration. Lourdes Volleyball is teaming up with Victoria's Restaurant to have a day of fabulous food and fellowship to support the LHS Volleyball Program. Come dine at Victoria's any time on Sunday, October 6th and mention "LHS Volleyball", and a portion of the sales will be donated to LHS volleyball. (Includes carryout.) The LHS Weight Room is open to students in grades 7-12. Rochester Catholic Schools students have the opportunity to begin learning a band instrument in 5th grade. The newly launched Eagle Booster Club was established to support the general growth and development of athletics for students (grades 7-12) within Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS). Membership is comprised of RCS parents, alumni, community members, and businesses working together with goals to heighten, enhance, and enrich the athletics programs. Members promote and provide a high quality experience for students, coaches, directors, and fans through sponsorship opportunities, fundraising, and volunteer efforts.
