International Student Application Process

2019 - 2020 School Year


Application Process

Registration typically begins in February for the following school year. It is recommended that application is made early for the best opportunity for enrollment at Lourdes High School.

Step 1: Apply to Lourdes High School

  1. Complete the online application form and pay non-refundable fee of $125.00.
  2. Complete the parent questionnaire.
  3. Complete the Release of Information form.
  4. Submit a letter written by the student which includes the following information:
    1. A short biography
    2. Why do you want to attend Lourdes High School?
    3. Do you plan to graduate from Lourdes High School?
    4. What do you enjoy doing in your free time (hobbies, sports, activities)?
    5. Have you traveled outside your home country before?
    6. Something unique about your hometown/country
  5. Official School Transcripts: A transcript of your courses, credits, and grades from the past three (3) years is very important to our review process.
    1. These copies must be translated into English and include an official school seal.
    2. You must include course description for each of the courses on your transcript for LHS to accurately assess course content.
  6. TOEFL test score (minimum of 63 on the TOEFL iBT)
  7. Copy of Passport
  8. Updated medical records and completed immunization record form
    1. International students are required to have health insurance. Proof of this must be provided to Lourdes High School.
  9. Copy of I-20 if transferring from another school

Step 2: Application Review

  1. After all the documents have been received and reviewed, a Skype interview with the applicant will be scheduled if needed.

Step 3: Receive Acceptance Letter and I-20 Form

If the student is accepted, Lourdes will send the following:

  1. An acceptance letter
  2. The original I-20

Step 4: Pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee

  1. Prior to applying for a visa, the SEVIS I-901 fee must be paid. This payment can be made with a credit card on the internet at http://www.FMJFee.com
    1. Print your receipt. Proof of payment is required by the US Consulate.

Step 5: Apply for a Student F-1 Visa

  1. Please visit this link for more information on how to apply for an F-1 visa.

Step 6: Notify Lourdes High School

  1. When a visa is granted, please inform Lourdes High School immediately (lhsguidance@rcsmn.org)
    1. Inform Lourdes of flight and arrival arrangements when they are made.
  2. Provide proof of health insurance
  3. New student orientation will take place in August
