Dear RCS Families and Staff,
As we officially close out an untraditional school year today, our eyes are already fixed on next year. We feel blessed at how our community has come together in such a trying time. It has taught us that we should never take for granted the opportunities we have to be together - be that for Mass or school.
It is our intent on being in school buildings to begin the 2020-2021 academic year.
We are making plans and preparations mindful of the current guidelines and any potential changes to the recommendations over the coming months. We will be working with staff and seeking input from families to develop plans for operating in our buildings safely and potential alternatives should they be necessary. In addition, members of the staff are participating in regional and national webinars about restarting school, as well as engaging in a task force aimed at sharing ideas and developing consistency in the schools across the Diocese of Winona-Rochester throughout this summer.
We will continue to communicate with our staff and families as these plans, focused on the health and safety of all, are developed and refined. This fall will most likely look different with the use of precautions such as social distancing and additional recommendations as needed. While those things will take an adjustment, our commitment to our faith and academic excellence remains steadfast.
Finally, we would like to share an update regarding the principal vacancy at Holy Spirit. The position has been posted for several weeks, and we have received applications from many qualified candidates. Interviews will commence the week of June 15 with the goal of selecting and approving a new leader for the school by the Board of Trustees meeting on July 7. We ask for your prayers as we continue to build the best team possible to serve our students, staff, and community.
We hope that you all have a refreshing summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the fall.
