Dear RCS Families and Community,
I pray that your Labor Day weekend was safe and relaxing. I would like to welcome our students and staff back to Lourdes this week. Welcome to our students and staff at Holy Spirit, St. Pius, St. Francis, and St. John who are beginning their second week of in-person classes. Please know your flexibility and preparedness is very much appreciated.
Bishop Quinn has asked all the parishes in the Diocese of Winona-Rochester to consecrate their parishes to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This has been done in the Diocese for a number of years. This Consecration and prayer has been done to ask for peace in hearts, in families, in the nation, and in the whole world.
Today (Tuesday) in the Church we are celebrating the Nativity of Mary. In union with the Diocese and Catholic Schools throughout southern Minnesota, I would like to invite you to enter into prayer for the next 30 days (September 7, the Nativity of Mary, through October 7, Our Lady of the Rosary). I am asking that we join the Diocese as we pray the rosary or another type of prayer that you find lifegiving. As we journey together, we pray for the safety and flourishing of our students, families, and staff as we continue to deal with the coronavirus.
We are also mindful of what is going on in our communities and world as we pray for an end to hatred, injustice, division, and violence across our nation and world.
Mary, Mother of the Church and Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
