Rochester Catholic Schools Announces 2021-2022 School Day Schedule
Rochester Catholic Schools (RCS) announces a revised school day schedule,
effective for the 2021-2022 academic year, in which preschool - grade 8 will have an earlier start
and end time. The Lourdes High School schedule will remain the same.
The new schedule was developed to address the adjustments that Rochester Public Schools (RPS)
made to their bell schedule that would have required the school days at some RCS schools to start
and end later. The adjustments to the RCS schedule take staff and parent survey results into
consideration and allow for several positive changes throughout each campus.
“This has been an opportunity for RCS to partner with our parents to develop educational
solutions that benefit our students,” said Dr. John Wald, co-chair of the RCS Board of Trustees.
By getting younger students into the classroom earlier in the morning, RCS anticipates
increased focus and engagement resulting in greater learning success . With an earlier end time,
students will also have more time to participate in extracurricular activities and clubs after school that
may not have been previously available to them.
