Tom Sursely, local wood carving artist and Rochester native, recently visited a Lourdes High School sculpture class to demonstrate his craft. Mr Sursely has been carving various types of wood and subject matter for the past 30+ years.
It was such a pleasure to have him share his passion and give the students expert advice on materials, tools and techniques. The knowledge the students gained from this hands-on experience will be applied to their next sculpture project. A big thanks to Mr. Sursely from Ms. Severson and the LHS sculpture class. His kindness and generosity is very much appreciated.
