  • St. John Physical Science Class - Egg drop

    On Monday, 6th graders in physical science class participated in an Egg Drop Challenge. This required them to follow various criteria and constraints to successfully build a device that protected a raw egg from a 2 story drop. After the completion, students evaluated the changes in kinetic and potential energy to show that you could use mathematics and science to calculate how fast the egg was going when it hit the pavement. This served as one of their performance assessments that summed up their work in engineering, forces, motion, and energy. Attached are the pictures of students whose eggs did not break

  • New Hire for Boys Summer Basketball Camps (Grades 3-9)

    We are happy to announce that this year’s Boys Basketball Camps for 3rd-6th grade (June 19-23), and 7th-9th grade (June 12-16) will be directed by Ryan Braun (Class of 2014). There is a second session for grades 3rd-6th (July31 - August 4th), but registrations numbers are running low, so we will have to wait to see if that camp is a go.

    Ryan is presently working on his education degree at the University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse. We welcome Ryan to our summer camp program. If you haven’t signed up yet, there still is time to do so, please click here. Come have some fun and work on your basketball skills.

    Also, we would like to announce that Ryan Friedhoff, Lourdes Physical Education Instructor will direct the boys 5 on 5 program (Monday and Wednesday afternoons). The sign up for 5 on 5, can also be accessed by following the online registration link above. 5 on 5 dates for the boys are June, 12 and 14, 19 and 21, 26 and 28.

    Mark Your Calendars: NO camps or 5 on 5 the week of July 4, July 10 and 12, 17 and 19, 24 and 26 and finally July 31 and August 2.
